What is wrong with Chelsea FC?

Well, at the start of the season this team was flying high, they were unbeatable and scoring goals for fun.Now they lay 5th in the table, six points adrift off Man United who lay first with a game in hand mind you. So what went wrong with this team? Their slump started when the board of directors of Chelsea announced the shock sacking of Carlo Ancelotti's assistant. Ray Wilkins was sacked from Chelsea for no apparent reason and it certainly came as a shock to me. He was Chelsea thru and thru. The players looked up to him as a mentor and as a person who could guide them thru thick and thin, but now he is know longer at the club. This could be one reason for Chelsea's fall from grace.In my opinion, the manager at Chelsea football club is merely there to make up the numbers. When Roman Abramovich  took over, yes the clubs enjoyed success for more then 50 years but it all comes with consequences. Basically what he wants is to control all aspect of the club. From it's transfer dealings right thru to the pre and post match  team talks. For him, money will never be an object because the can afford to buy any damn thing that he wants so when he bought the football club he wanted to run it like a football manager's game. Hiring and firing people is just a part of his fantasy world. Since his take over in 2003, no less then six managers have been booted. A person who is not in the same wave length with him will surely feel his wrath.Well, going back to Chelsea's situation, it's clear that the players are protesting to the handling of Ray Wilkins harsh sacking. They feel that the decision to sack him without any warning is hard done by and this is the best way they feel that they can get back at the people responsible for it. By not performing well on the pitch they are sending a clear message to all involved that they just can go sacking people here and there, they are not just a piece of meat that the owner can just throw around. 


But things are going to be OK. It seems that they are slowly coming out of the recent slump in form and they can only look forward to a bright future.
